How Films are Selected

Every two months, Javaflix members vote on 10 pre-selected films for upcoming Javaflix. The members are shown one 5 minute edited trailer showcasing the 10 films and then encouraged to score each one on a scale of 0-3 based on their interest

The two highest vote getters will then be the next two Javaflix. The bottom three will be dropped from consideration while the 5 in the middle of the pack will get a second chance to be voted on next time around in 2 months. For that next voting period, 5 new films will be added to the 5 that are given a second chance, totaling the 10 for every two months. The system repeats with the top 2 choices being the next two Javaflix and the bottom three being dropped.

If a film stays in the middle 5 without elevating to the top 2 for three voting periods in a row(4 month stretch), it will also be dropped.

There is also an opportunity for members to "write in" suggestions. These write ins will then be considered to be added for the next voting period.
